a meeting point for craft, creativity & possibility.
three things we care about.
a lot.
-

access
Good ideas deserve good materials.
We put quality tools, materials and creative teaching directly into students’ hands, giving them the freedom to experiment properly.
-

representation
Creativity doesn’t have to come from somewhere else.
Local artisans, craftsmanship and culture sit at the heart of how students learn, showing young people that creativity can look, feel and sound like home.
-

opportunity
Sometimes making one thing changes how you see everything else.
We want students to leave with new skills, more confidence and a bigger sense of where their creativity could take them.
okay,
but how does it actually work?
Premium materials donated by Kurt Geiger make their way from the UK to Yaoundé, where local Cameroonian artisans bring the knowledge, techniques and hands-on guidance.
Then the students get stuck in.
They sketch, experiment, make mistakes, try again and turn those materials into bags, shoes and jewellery they can proudly call their own.
And because making something is only part of the story, students also get access to Business by Design, the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation’s creative business course used by young people on its programme in the UK. From Yaoundé to London, students work through the same course, learning about photography, branding, marketing and how to share what they’ve created with the world.
but, why?
Because creativity is everywhere. Access to it isn’t.
We exist because talent should not be defined by geography, opportunity should not be a privilege, and creativity should not be reserved for those who can afford it.
The Creative Corner brings some of those opportunities closer: quality materials, skilled mentorship, room to experiment and the confidence that comes from making something with your own hands.
We’re not here to turn every student into a designer. We’re here to make sure creativity feels like something that belongs to them, whatever they choose to do next.
where next?
from our corner, to every corner.
We started in Yaoundé deliberately. The aim is to build something sustainable and scalable here first, rooted in local culture and identity while opening up global possibility.
From there, The Creative Corner can become a blueprint for creative education that can be adapted and expanded into new communities and territories, without losing the people, knowledge and character that make each place its own.
Big ambitions. One corner at a time.
we don’t do this alone.
Turns out, big ideas need good people. Meet the partners helping us turn ours into something real.
Holy Infant School, Yaoundé
Holy Infant School has been part of the Yaoundé community for more than three decades. It is also where Juliette’s own education began, making The Creative Corner’s home here especially personal.
Today, the school is making space for a new kind of learning, one where creativity, culture and hands-on making sit alongside traditional education. The Creative Corner builds on the school’s history while opening up new possibilities for the young people coming through its doors.
Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation
The Creative Corner was created in partnership with the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation, bringing Kurt Geiger’s materials, industry knowledge and creative education resources from the UK together with local expertise in Cameroon.
From premium materials to Business by Design, the partnership gives students access to the same quality of resources and learning that sit at the heart of the Foundation’s work in the UK.
