• our vision

To create a world where every young person, no matter where they’re born,  has the space, support, and tools to explore their creativity, develop their identity, and build a future shaped by possibility.

The Creative Corner started in one small classroom in Yaoundé, Cameroon, but our vision stretches far beyond its walls. We believe creativity is a universal language. One that isn’t defined by geography, access, or background but by the opportunity and freedom to grow.

Our vision is to build Creative Corners globally: spaces where culture, craft, and community come together to spark confidence, inspire imagination, and nurture the next generation of makers.

  • our mission

To empower young people through creativity by connecting local artisans, global design, and  educational resources.

Our mission is rooted in three key pillars:

    1. Access

Providing quality materials, tools, and teachings that are often unavailable in under-resourced communities.

    2. Representation

Celebrating cultural heritage, generational craftsmanship, and local identity as essential parts of creative education.

    3. Opportunity

Offering young people the confidence, skills, and exposure they need to imagine and build new possibilities for their futures.

  • our approach

A simple, sustainable model designed with purpose and built to grow. The Creative Corner blends local craftsmanship, global design thinking, hands-on learning, and community-driven collaboration to create a space where young people can explore freely, experiment boldly, and learn directly from skilled artisans.

Using donated materials from the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation, students reimagine signature design elements through their own creative lens, connecting traditional craft with contemporary design.

Our model is intentionally simple and flexible, able to adapt to different communities while still creating meaningful, lasting impact wherever it’s rooted. It’s taught by local talent, supported by global partners, and designed to remain sustainable long into the future.

but, why?

Creativity is universal but access isn’t. In many under-resourced communities, young people have the imagination, talent, and ambition to create, but not the materials, mentorship, or space to explore it. Holy Infant School is no exception. Despite its long-standing commitment to academic excellence, creative resources have always been limited.

The Creative Corner was founded to change that.

We exist because talent should not be defined by geography, opportunity should not be a privilege, and creativity should not be reserved for those who can afford it. We exist to give young people the freedom to experiment, the confidence to try, and the tools to build something they can be proud of. The Creative Corner is a pathway to identity, possibility, and a future a child can imagine for themselves.

where next?

The Creative Corner began in one classroom in Yaoundé as a single space designed to nurture imagination, craft, and confidence. But our vision reaches far beyond those walls. Our long-term goal is to grow this model into a blueprint for creative education that can be adapted and expanded into new communities, new classrooms, and new countries.

We are building something sustainable and scalable, rooted in cultural identity and global possibility. From Cameroon to London to every corner of the world, we hope to create a network of Creative Corners that give young people the chance to dream, design, and shape their own futures.

our partners

The Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation

This project is made possible through the support of the Kurt Geiger Kindness Foundation, whose belief in opportunity, empowerment, and creative education aligns seamlessly with our mission. Through their generosity, students have access to luxury-grade materials and tools. The same quality used in global fashion houses, enabling them to create with dignity, pride, and limitless imagination.

Holy Infant School, Yaoundé

Co-founded in 1994 by Mr and Mrs Simon Awasum, and managed Juliette’s father, Joseph, Holy Infant School has long been a cornerstone of education and community. The Creative Corner is proudly rooted within this school, honouring its history while expanding its future.
